Iroquois Antiquers hosting ice cream social

Quester Chapter 1396, Iroquois Antiquers, will host an ice cream social at the historic Prairie Dell Church, west of the village of Iroquois from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept.15.

The church is located in Iroquois County on roads 2150N and 2250E.

The ice cream social is intended to raise money for preservation of the historic church, as the Prairie Dell Ladies similarly hosted such events in the mid-1970s and earlier for church preservation.

The church will be open for viewing during the event. For additional information, contact Jean Herron at 815-683-2560.

The Iroquois Antiquers also have held fundraisers to assist with projects for the Old Depot and Old Courthouse Museum in Watseka and the new Crescent City Historical Society and Crescent City Community Room.
