Police: Sunday shooting in Kankakee may be related to Pembroke violence

A Sunday night shooting in Kankakee that left an 18-year-old injured may be related to the Saturday night violence in Pembroke.

Delnore Crayton Jr., of Chicago, was found in the 900 block of Chestnut Street with a gunshot wound to his leg at around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Kankakee police said. He would not cooperate with police and was taken to Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

No suspects have been identified, and police are continuing to investigate. They believe the incident may be related to the Saturday night shooting in Pembroke, which broke out during Pembroke's two-day annual festival, Pembroke Days.

Two vehicles damaged by gunfire were found near the scene of the Kankakee shooting.
