Civil War re-enactment in Kankakee set

A Civil War re-enactment, Outpost at Milliken's Bend, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, at Whispering Willows Park, 1451 N. 4000 E. Road, Kankakee.

The cost is $3 for ages 13 and older, $2 for veterans and ages 6 through 12, free for ages 5 and younger.

The Civil War re-enactment, Outpost at Milliken's Bend, will seek to portray events that occurred in Mississippi in 1863 at Milliken's Bend during the Vicksburg Campaign. The re-enactment will feature live re-enactors in the field and their encampments.
