1st day for Iroquois County election petitions is Sept. 3Monday, Sept. 3 is the first day for candidates of established political parties to begin circulating petitions for the March 18, 2014 primary election.

Offices to be subject to election in Iroquois County next year are county clerk, treasurer, sheriff, regional superintendent of schools and 10 county board posts — three in District 1; 1 in District II, 3 in District III; and 2 in District IV. Party committeemen in all 31 precincts also will be up for election.

Petitions will be available in the county clerk's office at the Bury Administration Center, 1001 E. Grant St., Watseka. For more information, call 815-432-6960.
