Advance registration discount for 6k race
GiGi's Playhouse in Bradley is having its second annual 6k race starting with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and a 9 a.m. race start on Sept. 7 at Kankakee Community College. They are going the extra k for that extra chromosome those with Down Syndrome have when they are born.
Preregistration is $25 before Sept. 1, and preregistration also guarantees participants a T-shirt. To register, go to gigisplayhouse.donorpages.com/5K2013Bradley.
If you are registering the day of the event, the cost is $30. Electronic chip timing will be used.
GiGi's, a charity and center to promote Down Syndrome awareness, is hosting a family fun day afterward on the college grounds, featuring many activities for children and a craft fair from 9 to 11:30 a.m. All proceeds from this event will be used to help provide free, therapeutic programming for people in the Kankakee County region with Down Syndrome.
